Yesterday afternoon, I had my first session with Tim Pears.
These workshops go for 2 hours and he had us writing for 80% of that time. I'd forgotten about the cramp that comes from writing furiously on paper.
One technique was very simple. You forget how effective this one can be. You're given a word and then told to write whatever comes into your mind for about 90 seconds and when the time is up you are stopped.
This happened 3 times and it's a lot like a footballer limbering up and jogging 3 laps of the oval before kicking a footy at training.
The final two exercises were for 10 minutes of writing.
