My meeting at Leeds Metropolitan University brought an unexpected bonus.
Aside from meeting the staff and having a tour around the main Headingly Campus, I was treated to a tour of the new facilities at the Headingly cricket ground.
Leeds Met are teaching classes inside the grandstand. Imagine trying to concentrate while a game (of any sort) is on. During the big games, the rooms convert to corporate hospitality and media centre.
We got chatting to one of the tour guides, a retired local sporting identity. He was good enough to arrange a couple of keepsakes - a scorecard from the recent Oz vs Pakistan match and a match booklet.
