Oxford may be full of university's and tourists but there's still room for the odd anecdote.
The other night a small group ventured out for more doof-doof dance action.
As they were walking along the street, a girl asked them for money. They ignored her and she got it into her head that someone had given her the finger. So she walked after them accusing them of this.
Then she made to put her hands around the throat of one while another reacted quickly to dislodge them. While doing that the girls elbow found it's way into the face of one of the group.
If you said 'gee there's a story in that', you'd be right.
Our Egyptian friend from our course spent a night last week in hospital after kissing the tiles with his eyes closed in the same doof-doof dance club and cracking his head on the dance floor.
He wasn't drunk or trying some new hip-hop dance move. He has a condition called 'Mediterranean fever' which attacks the joints. It had got the better of him and he merely fainted.
